Here are some Q/A to help with your registration Process.
-What is a horse/pony/utility type, and do I have to choose one?
- Every horse, pony and utility that is registered must have a type designated. Type is based on breeding and/or conformation characteristics. Only miniature horses are exempt from having a type.
- Stock Type: The Stock type Pinto is of predominantly Quarter and Paint breeding and conformation.
- Hunter Type: The Hunter type Pinto is of predominantly Thoroughbred and approved European Warmblood breeding and conformation.
- Pleasure Type: The Pleasure type Pinto is of predominantly Arabian, Andalusian and/or Morgan breeding and conformation.
- Saddle Type: The Saddle type Pinto is of predominantly Saddle, Andalusian, Hackney or Tennessee Walking Horse breeding and conformation, displaying high head carriage and the animated, high action of these breeds.
- Gypsy Type: The Gypsy type Pinto is of predominantly Gypsy Cob or Vanner breeding, displaying a heavy build, and short to moderate frame.
- Drum Type: The Drum type Pinto is either a full-blood Draft breed or Gypsy horse crossbreeding with other draft type breeds. They will display a larger, taller frame than the Gypsy type.
-Do I need to send photos of my equine in order to be registered?
- Yes, all new registrations must be accompanied by photos of the equine. The required photos are: a full front view, a full back view, left side view and right side view. No parts of the horse should be cut off or obstructed. If the equine’s mane and/or tail is braided, banded or wrapped, those need to be taken out for the photos so the mane & tail hair hang naturally.
